Description

Receive Address Register

RAR

This field is an address matching field during Receive mode. If the 9^th bit is set in the incoming character, then the remaining 8-bits will be checked against this field value. If the match happens, then sub-sequent characters with 9^th bit set to 0 will be treated as data byte until the next address byte is received. This field is applicable only when UART_LCR_EXT[ADDR_MATCH] and UART_LCR_EXT[DLS_E] bits are set to 1. RAR can be programmed at any point of the time. However, it must not be changed during any receive is in progress.
